Trick-or-treating with Mallory Hock, Debbie Welpott, and others while singing "Poisoning Pigeons in the Park" by Tom Lehrer.
From Barbara:
Hard to believe it's been forty years!!! I've been happily married to MS&T mining engineering professor David since July 30, 1972. We have two wonderful sons: Daniel is an M.D. (pediatrician) in Augusta, Maine, and Joseph is a Ph.D. in electrical/computer engineering and is doing a post-doc at Mt. Holyoke/MIT. Although I'm a Spanish teacher by profession and have no college hours in music, all I do is music--choir accompanist at Rolla Jr. and Sr. High, accompanist for Rolla High musicals, have played in orchestra pit at MS&T (formerly UMR), and have sung in Ozark Actors Theatre musicals. I disliked Rolla for the first couple of years but have grown to enjoy small-town life. And I have been a Messianic Jew since 1979.

From our class, who do you still hang out with?:
Fabienne Vincel Hemmann and I try to have lunch about twice a year and accomplish it about once every five years! Have seen many people around town. Marianne Stuart and I are in the same profession and have talked over the years. I have spent more time with some people's children (in the Clayton and Burroughs schools) than their parents! Saw many old friends from Ladue at the Pillar school reunion this past summer, such as Eric Nuetzel, etc.

Was touched when Jo Circle made me an engraved wood key chain the year I turned 16. I still have it. Because I transfered to Ladue in 10th grade, I only remember wishing that I knew people better. In Biology with Mr. Kutchner, Susie McKendry and I swaped duties. She put her hand into the vat to get the "thing" to be dissected and I did the dissecting. That good teamwork ended in a good friendship.
From Margaret (Peggy):
I am always amazed when I think about it that 1968 was such an iconic year in US history but also such a huge year for all of us personally with ending high school and beginning college. There really hasn't been a more momentous year since, so it reverberates with an extra dose of nostaglia for the people and events of that time. How could you not go to the reunion of 1968? Even at 58, I believe we will still be a vital group of people.

Being a Grandpa is the best thing to happen to me since meeting my wife.  Just so you should know, the reason that Grandparents and Grandchildren get along so well is because they have a common ENEMY!

Top 5 things I learned in high school: 5) If you are going to fall in love with a girl in an airport gift shop - Hartsfield Airport in Atlanta is the place to go. (Summer, 1966) 4) If you are going to be dumb enough to smoke cigarettes, at least be smart enough to smoke the best - Marlboro Reds in the crush proof box. (Spring, 1967) 3) Never break a beer bottle on the high school parking lot because you might have a Saturday session the next day and you might drive over the beer bottle you broke the night before and then you might have a flat tire that you have to change on a cold, blustery Saturday afternoon. (Winter, 1968) 2) Never go downtown, buy a case of beer and, several hours later before all the beer is gone, go with your friends to urinate on the exterior wall of the high school because the police might be nearby and they might see you and you all might be captured. (Spring, 1968) 1) Charles Dickens nailed it: It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way . . . (Spring & Summer, 1968).
From John:

See you this summer.

Ted Scallet and I have been friends for 40 odd years now. He lives in DC, so we see each other often. Betsy Sachar Nelson also lives in Baltimore, see her often as well. Debbie Woolf Smyth used to live in MAryland, saw her more before she moved to Maine. See Larry Liebert and Dithy Dodge less often.

Junior- Senior prom: Decorating was more fun than the actual event- catching a streamer as someone threw it down from the top of the bleachers was thrilling for someone who is not particularly athletic. The footbridge constructed to fit the "Sayonara" theme was mathematically simple- but the 45 degree angle of the sides made it hard to climb in striaght gown and heels. AP English- Melacholy Cannon and the APE 13.
