Most of high school thankfully rests in blurry memory, although somehow I remember the smell of the pool and locker room, the late rehearsal and performance nights of being in the chorus of the musicals, and the silvery dress I wore in a talent show. Chorale and Mr Richardson float into mind, the baritones behind me, first sopranos in front, Linda Faulstich on piano. Arguing with the geometry teacher on why I lost points when the answer was right, but the steps were wrong. Seniors walking the halls with dead cats in pillow cases slung over their shoulders when we were sophomores. The outbreak of the 6 Day War at the end of junior year, and the psychological impact on classmates. Submitting the same term paper in different classes on the political, economic, and social effects of the Russian Revolution in 10th, 11th, and 12th grades, and feeling like I'd really gotten away with something.
From Deah (Debbe):
I've been grateful for the good education I got at Ladue, especially in the last 20 years or so that I've taught college students whose writing and thinking skills, and knowledge of the world are about equal to what we learned in 7th grade.  After stints at a business college, and a naturopathic medical school, I've now retired from academic teaching.

Something about growing up in the St Louis suburbs made me want to travel the world, so after going off to Colorado Women's College and changing majors three times (music, political science, journalism), I lived for a year in South Korea, and four years in Germany.  In Europe I became a GS-9 Public Affairs Officer for the US Air Force, then transfered to Utah and got promoted to a GS-12.  Explaining to the media why your fighter planes are falling out of the sky isn't the most fun, but it was an interesting job.

Ended up in Seattle, got a Masters in adult education and counseling psychology, and opened a private practice.  Nine years ago I went for my PhD in consciousness, spirituality and naturopathic psychology, and much to my surprise ended up with two awards for my dissertation research.  Turned that tome into a more readable book that now sells on Amazon.

Quite unexpectedly, that dissertation also made me an international expert in an innovation research methodology, so I wrote another book on that, and have done dissertation coaching for students in the UK, Alaska, California, and Germany.  The text book is now a primary resource in 7 post graduate schools, at last count across the US and in the UK.

Currently, I'm winding down my psychotherapy practice because my client attraction coaching business for other therapists, personal coaches,  and NDs is taking off.  I aspire to work 6 hours a day 3 days a week, from wherever I happen to be, thanks to the internet and cell phones.

Senator McMillian Lewis what a great history teacher. He was so cool that he let students take cigarette breaks.. LOL. Put the shortest skirts in the front row, and always made learning easy. I really had a great time in his class and he (I think) really liked me. I faired faily well on the quizes and test but I never did homework. He let me float all year until final exam week. 3 days before graduation he called me in and said "Davis your're flunking, and you are not graduating" He continued to say "You do a report and if it is good I'll pass you". I frantically busted my butt for 2 days and walked into his classroom the day before graduation and turned it in. (I was sweating bullets, for I could not tell my parents I was not graduating) If you know anything about black families and how they discipline you know why. Anyway Senator Lewis took the report glanced then tore it up and with that cigar smoking raspy voice of his he said ALRIIIGHTTTTTTTTTT you pass. He made sure I finished one assignment before I left...

Wild Bill Heyde, Mrs. Weiss and her mastery of 7 languages, Four Tops & Kingsmen, paper drives, cold St.Louis winters that lasted until April, carpooling to school with Wendy Routman, Debbie Finn and Mark Weisman
From Betsy:
I left St. Louis in 1968 & went to Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth.  Graduated in 1972 & started working for Frito-Lay in Dallas.  Have been with them (PepsiCo) for 36 years & will retire in 4.  I manage all the sales & use tax audits by state & city gov'ts of Frito companies - I must be nuts.  Family all moved back to Texas in 1975.   Took up writing and have been published by several magazines and Dallas newspapers.  Tried watercolor painting and now paint on commission.  Certified scuba diver and adore Caribbean reefs.  Am still in my first childhood.  My sister & brother-in-law both went to TCU as did their kids, who all live in the area.  Dad passed several years ago but mom still lives in her home here.  Everyone very happy and very blessed.  Hope the reunion is a huge hit & I've enjoyed seeing the pictures and reading the stories, although I can't quite remember everyone.  How much happier we all look now than when class pictures were taken!!  Isn't aging wonderful?!
